Jim Miller

James W. Miller serves as Executive Director of Liberty Academy Charter Public School, where he is leading the development of a school rooted in strong academics, good character, and a lasting love of learning.

He holds that education is, at its core, a search for what is true and good. It is not just about preparing students for a job, but about helping them grow into thoughtful, capable, and responsible adults. At Liberty Academy, that means giving students a solid foundation in reading, writing, history, math, and science—while also helping them develop sound judgment, personal responsibility, and respect for others.

Mr. Miller maintains that students should encounter great books, important ideas, and the story of our nation and the wider world. Just as importantly, they should learn how to express those ideas clearly. He emphasizes strong speaking and writing, so students can think for themselves and communicate with confidence and purpose.

As a young man, Mr. Miller served in the United States Air Force. While enlisted, he attended the University of South Dakota, where he earned his associate degree. After completing his service, he continued his education at Framingham State University, earning a degree in Childhood Education.

Under his leadership, Liberty Academy is being built as a school where teachers lead the classroom, expectations are high, and students are encouraged to do their best work every day. He recognizes that when students are grounded in truth, guided by good habits, and challenged by meaningful content, they are well prepared to face life with courage, contribute to their communities, and carry forward the responsibilities of a free society.

Mr. Miller values the strong sense of community found in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region and understands that schools should reflect the character and values of the families they serve. He is committed to building a school that partners closely with parents and supports the development of each child with care, discipline, and purpose. Outside of his work, he enjoys time with his family and the natural beauty of the region.

Liz Regan

‍Mrs. Regan grew up in Keene, NH, and has been an educator in NH for over 15 years, working in a variety of academic settings as a classroom teacher in public and private schools, and as a tutor for public, private, and homeschool students.  She spent 10 years at New England Classical Academy, a private classical school, where she served as executive director for 4 years as well.  She holds a current teaching certification in 7-12 grade mathematics.

Since 2021, she has assisted several classical charter schools in their application and start-up phases, including Lionheart Classical in Peterborough, North Star in Wolfeboro, and now Liberty Academy.  Mrs. Regan has a passion for classical education and is honored to work to make it more available to NH students.  She has strong administration and communication skills that help keep projects running smoothly.  She considers herself a servant leader, who recognizes the responsibility of leading by example by setting high expectations for herself in order to maintain high expectations of faculty, staff, and students within a school community.

Mrs. Regan still considers herself a newlywed after marrying her husband in September 2023.  In addition to her 6 stepchildren, she has been blessed with a daughter who is almost 2 as well as a new bundle of joy due this July.  She enjoys reading, walking and hiking, family game nights, Sudoku puzzles, the beach, and community theater.
